Our senior client partners are supported by an experienced team of industry professionals and independent advisors selected for their capabilities in international market research, candidate evaluation and business strategy. Some of our team members have held corporate or site-based roles across the mining and industrial sectors.

Alana Bray-White

Managing Director

For more than 20 years, Alana has held operational leadership and board responsibilities across the engineering, construction, property and management consulting industries.

As a co-founder and partner of ivy & gecko, Alana brings rich experience and accomplishment in business management and client relationship development at the board and executive levels. She provides strategic capability and leadership to ivy & gecko’s team as they deliver timely and effective solutions to complex recruitment and organisational challenges.

Alana has successfully consulted to large international miners, as well as ASX junior and mid-tier project developers and producers. She has sourced and placed candidates across a number of jurisdictions, including Australia, West Africa, Canada, the USA and SE Asia.

In 2023, she co-authored Smart Value, a book containing first-of-its-kind research that is now being used by Australian miners to improve their talent attraction and retention strategies. She holds membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the WA Mining Club.

David Beilby

Director

David has gained over 35 years of experience as a corporate executive and board director. He has owned and operated businesses offering talent and organisational services to the Australian and international mining industries.

Importantly, David has lived experience in remote mining communities and is knowledgeable across commodities, extraction methods and jurisdictions. His decades-long service to the resources sector makes him a credible source of insight and perspective on the operational challenges and investment growth strategies facing mid-tier mining businesses.

As a co-founder and partner of ivy & gecko, David advises clients on NED, C-suite and key management appointments. He is a published author of mining books and a podcaster to the industry.

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Commerce. He holds membership of the WA Mining Club. In 2015, he was recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for his exemplary service to the Australian community.

Stuart Chandler

Stuart has gained over 25 years of experience in executive search, talent strategy and organisational advisory, working with Australian and international companies across the mining, resources and industrial sectors. He has built a career supporting complex, asset-intensive organisations through periods of growth, transformation and operational change.

Stuart brings lived experience partnering with clients operating in diverse jurisdictions and industrial environments. He has held senior executive, director and general management roles within industrial and professional services firms and is deeply knowledgeable across mining, energy, construction, manufacturing and broader industrial markets.

This experience enables him to provide informed perspective on leadership challenges, capability requirements and sector dynamics. His long-standing involvement in these sectors makes him a credible source of insight for boards and executives seeking to strengthen organisational performance.

As a Senior Client Partner at ivy & gecko, Stuart advises clients on board, C-suite and key management appointments and contributes to search delivery across Australia and key international regions. He is recognised for his mature judgement, commercial acumen and ability to engage with senior stakeholders in both mining and industrial settings.

Stuart holds a Master of Management (Marketing) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Managers and Leaders.

David has gained more than 35 years’ experience in business management and executive leadership roles, within privately owned and public listed organisations. He is a trusted advisor to Australia’s mining and industrial sectors, providing value through his expertise in leadership search and board services. He is a co-host of the Hearts & Mines podcast and a contributor to ivy & gecko’s research-based publications.

David is regularly engaged to conduct national and global searches for board directors, executives and senior managers. His client portfolio includes major and mid-cap mining companies that have projects and operations in the precious, battery and critical minerals industries. He also consults to the equipment, technology and services companies that support these businesses.
