Experts in mining leadership

Our team offers over 70 years of experience in the delivery of board, executive leadership and key management searches for clients with projects and operating assets across the world’s premier mining jurisdictions.

Our searches are led by ivy & gecko’s partners, who are widely respected in the mining community for the value of their insights and the depth of their industry networks. Their experience and knowledge enable them to be highly effective in understanding clients’ requirements and in communicating a value proposition to attract and secure critical talent.

Our partners are supported by an experienced team of industry professionals and independent advisors selected for their specialist capabilities in international market research, candidate evaluation and mining business strategy. Our team members have held corporate or site-based roles in the mining industry.

We have invested in best practice search processes, industry intelligence sources and technologies, enabling our people to deliver targeted and effective searches. We have avoided the hierarchical structures and bureaucratic practices of some larger firms, preferring to empower our people and maintain an agile and responsive service for our clients.

Alana Bray-White

For more than 20 years, Alana has held operational leadership and board responsibilities across the engineering, construction, property and management consulting industries.

As a co-founder and partner of ivy & gecko, Alana brings rich experience and accomplishment in business management and client relationship development at the board and executive levels. She provides strategic capability and leadership to ivy & gecko’s team as they deliver timely and effective solutions to complex recruitment and organisational challenges.

Alana has successfully consulted to large international miners, as well as ASX junior and mid-tier project developers and producers. She has sourced and placed candidates across a number of jurisdictions, including Australia, West Africa, Canada, the USA and SE Asia.

In 2023, she co-authored Smart Value, a book containing first-of-its-kind research that is now being used by Australian miners to improve their talent attraction and retention strategies. She holds membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the WA Mining Club.

David Beilby

David has gained over 35 years of experience as a corporate executive and board director. He has owned and operated businesses offering talent and organisational services to the Australian and international mining industries.

Importantly, David has lived experience in remote mining communities and is knowledgeable across commodities, extraction methods and jurisdictions. His decades-long service to the resources sector makes him a credible source of insight and perspective on the operational challenges and investment growth strategies facing mid-tier mining businesses.

As a co-founder and partner of ivy & gecko, David advises clients on NED, C-suite and key management appointments. He is a published author of mining books and a podcaster to the industry.

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Commerce. He holds membership of the WA Mining Club. In 2015, he was recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for his exemplary service to the Australian community.

Angela Vitalich

Brand Development Manager

Angela’s career includes 15 years of experience in graphic design, digital marketing and brand development across a range of industries.

Since joining the ivy & gecko team, she has led the creative development of our firm’s mining publications, podcast programs and conference events. In so doing, she has been pivotal in strengthening the value of our brand amongst our client base of mid-tier explorers, developers and miners.

Angela’s qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in Design and Advertising.

Carol Wilson

Executive Assistant

Carol is a highly experienced business administrator and executive support professional. Having lived in a remote mining community, prior to spending more than 20 years in the executive search industry, she is adept at building relationships with clients and candidates alike.

Carol assists ivy & gecko’s partners in managing their project delivery and provides support to Angela Vitalich in resourcing our firm’s podcasts, research publications, and events.

Dr Carmen Letton

Independent Advisor

A qualified mining engineer and internationally experienced executive and non-executive director, Carmen has deep expertise in the management of mining operations and project development studies. She has a strong technical understanding across commodities in both opencut and underground mining, in Australia and internationally.

Carmen advises ivy & gecko’s partners on technical and strategic matters relating to project developments, production operations and mining economics.

Dave Kelly

Independent Advisor

Dave is a qualified geologist, mining executive and non-executive director. Having acquired more than 35 years of experience in the global mining and resources investment industries, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of the entire value chain from exploration to project development, operations, mining finance and corporate growth strategy.

Dave advises ivy & gecko’s partners on technical and strategic aspects of exploration, project development and mining operations.
